Inpired By Nature Card Kit

Good Morning. How is this for a manly card? I have the following card kit available for purchase. They are $1 each or $1.50 for those who are long distance (includes postage). If you are interested in any of these and are coming on Friday evening, please let me know because I will have them all in one baggie if you are purchasing multiples. Take note, the neat thing about this card is that the brown things (can't think of the name of them) on the grass/weeds are created using the Horizontal Slot Punch so they are slightly raised (not flat or stamped) which gives it a little dimension.

Sets: Inspired By Nature, Sincere Salutations (set of 8 can place any greeting on there...that is what I love about that set), and Weathered (retired)

Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Craft, Chocolate Chip, and Whisper White

Ink: Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Double Rectangle Punch, Corner Rounder, and Horizontal Slot Punch.

I hope to see many of you tomorrow evening (since we will be having a large crowd) at our Christmas Stamp-a-Stack. We will have stamping, door prizes, food, and fun! I will be bringing a 50/50 board. When you place a $50 order, you get to place your name on my 50/50 board grid. When the board is filled, I will be drawing a name and that person will receive $50 FREE in Stampin' Up! product...of their choice!! You don't want to miss this opportunity.

New Technique

Good Morning All! I come before you today with a rather new technique. Hope you all will try this out. The technique is called paper piecing. Obviously you wouldn't want to do this on a stack of cards, but for someone special, it is pretty unique.

Look very carefully at the inside body of the birds on the card. Also, the inside part of the party hat is different. Here is how it goes: You stamp your image on your card where you want them (in this case the white piece). Then on a piece of Designer Series Paper, stamp the same image. Cut that image out (just the body or party hat part) and then put in place over top of your image on the regular piece of white cardstock as shown. Instead of coloring in, it gives a lift to your images and jazzes them up a bit. Follow me? If not, e-mail me and I will help you out further.

This card uses the A Little Birdie Told Me set (which is retired) and some retired Designer Series Paper (Good Morning Sunshine) and 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grograin Ribbon. Colors used: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, and Apricot Appeal). Enjoy!

Medallion

First of all, I want to say Happy Birthday to Davona!! I will always remember your birthday...it is the same day as my anniversary. Today, Dave and I have been married for 20 years. Most of you know that my parents just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and to think the possibility of us reaching 40 more years is just amazing! He might actually be reading this as I sent him to look at the recent changes on my blog! Happy Anniversary, honey.

Today's featured card was created by Christine Rebbert, a fellow demonstrator. I have thought that this new Medallion stamp was neat, but I certainly wasn't sure what I would do with it. This is perfect! Here it is seen embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and set with the heat tool.

Colors: Naturals Ivory and Dusty Durango
Accessories: Clear Emossing Powder, Versamark Pad, and Heat Tool
Gold Brad, Scallop Oval Punch, Dusty Durango Polka
Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon, and Ticket Corner Punch.
Sets: Medallion (background stamp) and Priceless

The moment you have all been waiting for...who has won the blog candy (no, it is not real candy...it is a prize). The winner is Peggy C. Congratulations, Peggy, you have won a variety package of ribbon! Check back in daily as my blog is about to get a "face lift". The scary part is...my son is doing it!! Who knows what it will look like! What do you think of the catalog link? Cool??

I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this paper if I didn't see it here! I really like it. The card was enhanced with the Eyelet Border Punch, 5-Petal Flower Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, Tempting Turquoise Ribbon, Ruby Red & Tempting Turquoise Brads, and Dazzling Diamonds.

I am in the "giving" mood tonight! Drop me an e-mail or a comment to let me know you saw Kangaroos and Christmas and I will enter your name in tomorrow's drawing! The winner will receive...a variety package of ribbon. We could all use ribbon to decorate our cards and scrapbooks...couldn't we?

Tall Tales/Animal Stories

First of all, I apologize for not posting on Friday. I am trying to make a great effort of posting at least Monday through Friday. Let's just say that by Friday, I was totally exhausted from the fair! Now it is over and life will be back to normal soon.

Today's featured card was created by Jan Shaw, a fellow demonstrator. I just love this card. It uses the Tall Tales Designer Series Paper, Modern Label Punch, and Dusty Durango Polka Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon to give it a lift. The animal stamp is from Animal Stories; a perfect set for kids. The Big Shot was used with the Movers and Shapers Die. Enjoy!
